Small game fishing with visit to
Ixtapa Island or Las Gatas beach
We leave from the zihuatanejo pier around 7 am or later if you prefer. If you choose to visit Ixtapa Island, we will cruise to the north and start fishing just outside of the bay. We normally troll 2-3 lines with rapala plugs, hoochie lures, or small trolling jigs. We are hoping to catch crevalle jacks, black skipjacks, needlefish, or Spanish mackerel. We might even hook a nice grouper near the rocks or a small Dorado (Mahi Mahi).
As lunchtime approaches, we will deliver you and your catch to one of the many beachfront restaurants (enrramadas) on Ixtapa Island. There is nothing better than eating fresh caught fish on the beach in a lovely tropical setting. (Our price does not include fish preparation or lunch costs at the restaurant). Snorkeling is available on the island or just takes a relaxing siesta before heading back to zihuatanejo.
If you are looking for a similar but shorter trip try, our fishing /las gatas beach excursion. We can leave the pier around 10 am, fish for a few hours just outside the bay, and bring you back to las gatas beach for lunch. Here again there are many beachfront restaurants which will gladly prepare and serve your catch. Take a swim inside the protected reef and we will have you back at the pier by 2 pm.

Duration of ixtapa island trip: approx. 7 hours.

Clients should bring their own food and beverages of choice. Although the hard top on our boats provides some shade, do not forget your sunglasses, hat and sunscreen.
For advance reservations we require a 30% deposit, which is fully refundable if cancellations are received at least 2 days prior to the reservation.
